After the Holiday is a great time to reminisce and check out our year in review. There isn’t a better place to do that than the IWMCG Official Bunn Awards!
    

What Are The Bunn Awards? 
During the time of Covid our store like many, struggled to see the light at the end of the tunnel. When new comics came to a halt for the first time since their inception, we turned to older comics and began looking back at all the effort put in to release this awesome product. After a while we noticed one name pop up on title after title, week after week. It was non-other than Writer Cullen Bunn. Collectively we would joke about how much work Mr. Bunn had put into this business working on his own creatives and filling in on mini-series. It's not hard to see how much love he has for the industry. It is on the back of Cullen Bunn and the absolutely amazing people like him working everyday on their passions (And sometimes the passions of others) That we get to have a business as well.  Through this idea of looking back, and observing the incredible works that release through out the year, The Bunn Awards were born! 

Below you will find descriptions of our current categories.

 Best Ongoing Title – We are looking at a current ongoing title and its story as a whole regardless of creative team switches. It is judged exclusively on its own continuous narrative.

Best Mini / Maxi  –  Any tale that was 12 issues or less and ended within the year.

Best New Series – Any Story that began in the current year. Ones that started so strong they almost demand blind loyalty into the new year.

Fresh Face Award – A small featurette for the new names pushing into the spotlight.  With so many rising stars who shines the brightest?

Best Artist (Cover) –  A definer that keeps the focus on the Artist that hurts your wallet the most.  Always catching your eye amidst the vast selection of the new release rack. Compelling you to purchase regardless of its interior content.

Best Artist (Interior) – Sometimes the words come secondary, Comics are a two way street but it is always noticeable when art is just carrying you through a 32page adventure regardless of those pesky real world surroundings.

Best Writer – To the person behind the tale! The constructor of worlds and drama, conflict and consequence.  A name that demands commitment regardless of genre. A person worthy to stand next to Cullen Bunn.  

Best Single Comic Book – Through the onslaught of creativity and distribution, amid ongoing arcs, one-shots, & minis series you can find a single gem. Pristine, unscathed by the dramas surrounding it. This award goes to a Single comic book featured in an ongoing, One-Shot, or Miniseries.

New Category Added This Year!

Comic Club Book Of The Year - Voted by YOU! The best Comic Book Club Book! Once a month the Comic Book Club put in the work to find amazing Trade Paper Backs / Graphic Novels. To Celebrate the journey and bring more attention to our fantastic book club! You can now vote on the Comic Club Book of The Year! The book can be nominated because you enjoyed the book, think it’s cool, or even because it was the best time you had at our Book Club meeting! The reasons are entirely up to you! Just make sure and vote!
