Tabletop Games

I do not remember a time that I did not play games.

As a child it was checkers and Mousetrap and Sorry before it was Stratego and Clue and Monopoly. When I was in fifth or sixth grade I started playing Dungeons and Dragons and other role playing games and my life was changed. In the mid eighties came Axis and Allies, Fortress America and Shogun by Milton Bradley and my life was changed again. Fast forward to the mid nineties and the introduction of Magic and the trifecta of Role Playing, Board, and Trading Card games was complete.

These days most of my gaming time is devoted to board games, although I still play in a Fallout Role Playing campaign and will throw down some games of Commander on occasion.

I got into the hobby mostly due to the social aspect of gaming and currently, given time constraints, board games are the easiest way for me to have a few hours with family and friends doing something we enjoy. Just the other night we had friends over for a get together and played Skull and That's Not a Hat, a couple of quick social games. Every month our game group gets together and plays some more in depth games, my current favorites are Foundations of Rome, Everdell and Raising Robots. Each week we have a family dinner and play something. We just finished Ticket to Ride Legacy and had a great time (we also have played Pandemic Legacy and Betrayal at House on the Hill Legacy).

Gaming is a great way to connect with friends and family! Come in and talk to me about the hobby and I'll be happy to give you some suggestions for your group whether you are new to the hobby or looking for a new favorite.
